I'm in a new place, in a house in the country side. Once again living with my cats, and this time also 5 icelandic four-legged neighbours (3 pictured above). It's a great place to watch the seasons shift, to craft from recycled materials and to pick mushrooms.
Yesterday was spent wandering in a fairy tale landscape among wood anemones and budding birches. I'm just as amazed every year how beautiful the first sunny and green spring days can be after the long grey winter's we get. On the top of a hill near Liagärdesklämman there were fallen branches all covered in lichen. I couldn't resist harvesting some. Looking forward to some plant dyeing experiments, hoping that the lichen will result in brilliant purple yarn, as I've been told it can, if you choose the right lichen and mordant.
